TIMED FEEDER
Automated rotary feeder designed for delivery of medicated food at specific times.
For this particular experiement the researchers needed to administer medicated food to mice at specific times for a specific duration window. Manually providing this food was error prone and inconstent and required extensive manual labor.
The rotary automated feeder has eight wells and makes one rotation every 24hours. The microcontroller provides the timing and access control to the food. The device has utility in other simliar applications and can be easily adapted. Changes to dispenser timing is all controlled through microcontroller code.
Implementation of this solution has dramatically reduced the labor required and increased the accuracy of medicine dispensed to ensure the research has stable input data.
