The peltier chiller served to provide accurate temperature regulation for a live slice bath. With the use of a microcontroller the temperature can be monitored and power adjusted in order to maintain a steady temperature.

Using Peltier coolers alowed very rapid and precise temperature adjustments, compared to other forms of heating and cooling. The temperature can be set and forgotten and the code will maintain the right temperature.

The design began as a requirement from a grad student who need to control the temperature of a water bath for her experiement. She provded some basic requirements with sizes and temperature fluctuation tollereances. From there we designed a circuit to control the temperature and designed and 3D printed the enclosure to support the water bath and OLED screen displays.

This apparatus can be used in multiple cooling situations, and potentially easily upgraded to become a heating control. Being software controlled  it has the flexibility of managing temerature behaviors in various liquids.
